That is a very skeptical view. Of course there is hype, but there is also real progress, especially in the area of sustainability. Technologies such as blockchain or AI can significantly reduce the carbon footprint and improve transparency in the supply chain. These developments not only offer added value, but are also necessary to make our industry fit for the future.
Sustainability is of course an important topic, but how often are such terms only used as buzzwords? Many companies talk about “green” initiatives without actually changing anything. It often remains lip service, while the real problems remain unsolved. I wonder whether these technologies really make the big difference they promise.
I understand your skepticism, but we must not forget that every big change starts with small steps. Technologies like blockchain and AI are tools that can help us achieve true sustainability if used correctly. It's up to us to use these tools effectively and ensure that they actually contribute to improvement rather than just following trends.

I disagree with that. If we only rely on tried and tested methods, we could miss out on opportunities that could advance our industry. Innovation also means risk, but without this risk we will stagnate. The world is changing and we have to change with it, otherwise we will be left behind.
Trends are all well and good, but how many of them really make sense? Many developments in the supply chain industry seem more like marketing gimmicks than genuine innovations. Before we adopt every new hype without reflection, we should ask ourselves: does it really add value, or is it just another distraction from the essentials?
